E-Pusara is a system to track grave and managed by Jabatan Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (JAWI) using a concept of 'Grave in a Garden' or in Arabic word means Raudhatul Sakinah. This innovation project has been established in order to improve the old way of cemetery management.
As to date, there are eight Islamic Cemetery that using this system. It includes Tanah Perkuburan Bukit Kiara, Tanah Perkuburan KL-Karak, Tanah Perkuburan Alam Damai, Tanah Perkuburan Datuk Keramat, Tanah Perkuburan Taman Sri Sinar, Tanah Perkuburan Sungai Penchala, Tanah Perkuburan Titiwangsa and Tanah Perkuburan Ibukota.
Out of eight Islamic Cemetery as mentioned above, Tanah Perkuburan Islam KL-Karak and Tanah Perkuburan Islam Bukit Kiara has been made as Pilot Project since these two cemetery already have a lot grave system and systematic reference number.
Before using e-pusara system, all Islamic cemetery in Malaysia are using old way whereby they need to remember the location of the deceased. It creates problems when the landmark (small stone or tree has been removed) by the cemetery's management. At the same time, a problem also arise when they are trying to locate old grave of their ancestor.
After the implementation of e-pusara, the process of locating and tracking graveyard become effective and very efficient. A nice landscape and beautiful surrounding make visitors feel comfortable when they visit the graveyard.
